Every adult needs
an HIV test !

Simple to do. Important to know. So many people are infected and don't even imagine they are at risk.

Rapid HIV tests use a bit of saliva from your mouth and can produce results within 20 minutes. They do not require lab facilities or highly trained staff. If you are getting blood tests, the HIV test may use your blood and not require a separate saliva sample. Positive results from a rapid test must be confirmed by a more accurate assay, which can take from a few days to a few weeks.

Counselling is useful where a positive test is expected or received. It is important to have a chance to talk about where you might have picked up HIV, how you can protect those around you from getting infected and how to keep your health strong.
